Brett Anderson - Founder & Wealth Partner

Brett founded Collies Wealth Partnerships in 2024 to provide a wealth management service to New Zealand and the world that is better aligned with their clients' interests (growing their wealth) and is available to everyone.

He wanted to eliminate conflicts of interest's that other wealth managers have. This primarily means not clipping the ticket in many places, not receiving any commissions or other incentives from external parties and charging fees that are (a) lower and (b) linked to long term performance.

With this long-term focus and needing to perform well for us to generate a profit (at least > 7% annualized TWR) we must be disciplined and follow a proven investment strategy that we believe will generate strong returns over the long term which is aided by the lower fees. This strategy is likely to deviate from market returns in the short-term, but this is necessary when attempting to generate performance that can beat the market, and if it doesn't work the client will only have paid us to cover custody costs and our costs to administer the portfolio.

Brett previously worked at Craigs Investment Partners, ANZ Private Bank, and as an accountant in various accounting roles for a large multinational company.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics and Finance) from Victoria University of Wellington, a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies (endorsed in Personal Financial Planning) from Massey University and has passed Level 1 of the CFA program.
